Job description

Wagenborg Manila is seeking for a Chief Officer to join our Shipping Fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our general cargo vessels. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of cargo while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the deck team to ensure smooth operations

  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations

  • Coordinate cargo loading and unloading activities

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation

  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize vessel performance

Job requirements

  • Valid applicable Certificate of Competence (STCW II/2)

  • Valid STCW Training Certificates

  • Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a multicultural crew

  • Experience with general cargo trade

  • Experience with mixed Nationality crew

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cargo handling operations and safety procedures

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging maritime environments

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and operational requirements
