Job description

Wagenborg Manila is seeking for an AB Cook to join our Shipping Fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of meals for the crew on board our General Cargo vessels.


Key responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare nutritious and delicious meals for the crew

  • Manage the inventory of food supplies and place orders as needed

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the galley

  • Supervise kitchen staff and maintain a clean and organized workspace

  • Contribute to creating a positive and efficient working environment on board

Job requirements

  • Valid applicable Certificate of Competence (Ships’ Cook + Rating Deck STCW II/4 or/and II/5)

  • Valid STCW Training Certificates including Basic Safety and Security Awareness

  • Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform duties in a demanding maritime environment.

  • Good English communication skills

  • Proficiency in preparing and serving high-quality meals for the crew

  • Knowledge of safety and hygiene regulations in the galley and food handling procedures.

  • Ability to manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain cleanliness in the galley.

  • Capability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing situations at sea.

  • Ability to work well in an International team environment
